1) Howdy All
Welcome Travellers, Explorers, Off-Road Enthusiasts, Motor Heads and everybody else who cannot wait for the weekend or holidays to take their vehicles and gears for a spin. Maximisers, Perfectionists, restless Renaissance Souls, Desert Lovers, Gypsies and Nomadic Spirits, step right in.
You are in the right place if you:
- Enjoy the outdoors
- Believe in the journey being the destination
- Don’t mind which route gets you there
- Don’t mind where “There” is, as long as it’s remote, interesting and challenging to get there
- Are constantly looking for ideas and inspiration with regard to vehicles, travel gear and gadgets
- Appreciate nature and care for the environment
- Are interested in photography
You are not in the right place if you are:
- A couch potato
- Generally bored and just looking for a space to add your 2 cents
- A Vegetarian, a compulsive Tree Hugger or in any other way overly and unreasonably green
- Humorless and unsmiling
This Blog will mainly be about our Camper, nicknamed “Wohni” (abbreviated, German “Wohnmobil”), it’s making, bio, history, and the journeys and destinations we will hopefully experience with it.
We, that’s a family of four. Myself (Tommy), my wife Doris, who will also occasionally contribute (which is a good thing, as she is the much better writer) and our two kids, Maximilian and Felix.
“Wohni” is still in the making at the time of this writing (more about that later), and at the moment ‘just’ a straight forward 2008 Model 4.5l Toyota Landcruiser Bakkie (Pick-up or Truck for the non Afrikaans speaking community). Wohni is with Schroeder Motorhomes in Jeffreys Bay and has been stripped, ripped, cut and pasted - the poor thing - enduring the necessary treatments to eventually become a proper, grown up, bundu bashing, bush whacking Camper.
We hope you will enjoy our occasional waxing lyrics and that you will come back on a regular basis to look, see, comment or whatever else blows your hair back.
Cheers & Beers
Tommy & Family
